Dee Parekh, Founder of Strarc, is a technology and cyber security leader with over 20 years of certified experience spanning tech, risk, and product management. He spent 13 years scaling technology at a high-growth investment management firm and a prior decade driving transformation across publicly funded organisations, combining pragmatic technology choices with seamless implementation and adoption.
Most recently, as CISO and DPO for the UK and Ireland’s largest growth capital investor, Dee shaped and executed cyber security and data privacy strategy, embedding resilience into core operations and aligning with corporate risk and governance. He has conducted technology and cyber due diligence for investors assessing potential opportunities and designed programmes that deliver post-deal value protection and cyber-driven value creation. Dee also supports cyber portfolio companies with product development, ensuring their innovation is appropriately aligned and balanced with the needs of CISOs.
Backed by experience with a £3bn AUM firm and a portfolio of 300+ companies across diverse sectors, he brings a proven track record of turning technology, risk, and resilience into drivers of growth.
The judges were highly impressed by what Parekh accomplished throughout 2023, including defining a new cyber and data privacy strategy, creating a foundational two-year AI strategy and implementing a mentoring programme to help promote existing team members into managerial roles.
